40th Chess Olympiad
27 August - 10 September 2012Istanbul, Turkey |

ACF Olympiad Appeal
Unlike most competing nations, the Australian teams
receive no government support and must pay their own
way, a burden compounded by the distance involved
from Australia to Turkey and the corresponding high
air fares. They can't do it alone, but depend on the
support of the Australian chess community. the
cheapest available fares (on which the appeal target
is based) involve trans-China flights over 34 hours
with three flight changes along the way (Guangzhou,
Beijing and Urumqi) - a trip not for the
faint-hearted!
We ask you all to give what you can to the ACF
Olympiad Appeal. No donation is too large or too
small - all will get the teams that much closer to

Chess Victoria is an organization of affiliated clubs and
provides a range of services, privileges and other
benefits to groups of players who apply successfully for
status as an affiliated club.
CV rules define two levels of affiliation: provisional
affiliation and full affiliation.
The CV Executive committee may grant provisional
affiliation to a club that agrees to meet requirements
such as the supply of up-to-date information about the
club, compliance with CV rules and policies, and payment
of the annual club affiliation fee, as set each year by
club representatives at the CV annual general meeting.
A club that has been provisionally affiliated for 12
months may be granted full affiliation at a CV annual or
special general meeting.
