Chess Victoria Presents The 2014 Victorian Championships
Format: 12 player round robin (11 rounds)
Eligibility: Players selected based on March 2014 ACF rating list. 2013 Victorian Champion Bobby Cheng automatically qualifies for 2014 Championship.
Rate of play: All moves in 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move increment from move 1
Ratings: Event will be rated on ACF & FIDE rating lists
Forfeit time: 30 minutes after scheduled start time
Entry Fees: $75 full; $50 concession; GMs, IMs, WGMs & WIMs free;

Prizes: 1st $1500 + gold medal; 2nd $750 + silver medal; 3rd $375 + Bronze medal;
Playoff: In case of two players sharing first place a play-off match for the State title will be arranged. The playoff will be over two games with Championship time control and in case of a tie two rapid games, if still tied two blitz games and if still tied an Armageddon game. In case of 3 or more players tying for first place a round -robin tournament for the title will be arranged.
Postponements: A maximum of one postponement is allowed per player during the event, unless exceptional circumstances apply.

Round 4 - Box Hill CC – Tuesday May 20 starting at 7:45pm
Round 5 – Noble Park CC – Saturday May 24 starting at 3:00pm
Round 6 - Melbourne CC – Thursday May 29 starting at 7:30pm
Round 7 – Box Hill CC – Tuesday June 3 starting at 7:45pm
Round 8 – Melbourne CC – Thursday June 12 starting at 7:30pm
Round 9 – Box Hill CC – Tuesday June 17 starting at 7:45pm
Round 10 – Noble Park CC – Saturday June 21 starting at 3:00pm
Round 11 – Melbourne CC – Thursday June 26 starting at 7:30pm
Note: There will be no Reserves event in 2014
